The art of quilt making takes skill and a tremendous amount of time. Giving a quilt to someone shows you put a great deal of thought and effort into the creation of your gift.
My quilts are unique, in that they are inbetween an art quilt and a snuggly, curl up, usable quilt. I use my quilt tops as my canvas and create from there - the colors and feel that the batik fabric gives it tells me which direction to head. Some of my quilts have been in gallery exhibtitions and many people have referred to them as paintings. My goal, however, is to make a quilt the you can use and wash, again and again, and still last for years.
The memory I have of my first child blanket (my fairy tale blanket) is what inspired my to make images primarily for children - I still have strong memories of the blanket and carried it with me through most of college (I used it as a car lap blanket). So I know how important those first secure images can be for a child and I wish to pass on those pleasent dreams to as many children who receive them.
· My passion for arts started at Highland Hall, a Waldorf School in Northridge, CA, but the production takes place in the California foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
